Goalkeeper Derek Soutar joins Cypriots APEP Pitsilia

Former Aberdeen and Dundee goalkeeper Derek Soutar has signed a two-year deal with Cypriot side APEP Pitsilia.

Soutar will head to Limassol in June to prepare for the new Cypriot season.

Pitsilia manager Stephen Constantine, who watched the ex-Scotland under-21 keeper in a bounce game against Celtic, has signed Soutar on a two-year deal.

"The last couple of seasons have been uncertain for me so I'm delighted to have my future secured so quickly this time," said the 28-year-old.

Soutar, who began his career with Dundee and had spells at Alloa and Brechin before joining Aberdeen, stressed to BBC Scotland how pleased he was at the interest Constantine had shown in him.

"Their manager has been great with me," he said.

Chisholm set to sign former Celtic keeper

DUNDEE manager Gordon Chisholm will make former Celtic goalkeeper Scott Fox his first signing for the Dark Blues today.

Dundee have been on the lookout for a new keeper after allowing Tony Bullock and Derek Soutar to move on this month, so will complete a pre-contract deal for the 22-year-old if he passes a medical at Dens Park this morning.

Chisholm has worked with Fox before, having signed him for Queen of the South in January and believes he has got the potential to challenge number one Rab Douglas.

Fox is a free agent after being released by Celtic last summer but the Parkhead club indicated to him in January they would still seek training compensation for bringing him through the ranks and it is understood they put a price tag of £150,000 on his head.

That led him to join Queens on amateur terms but, once he turns 23 at the end of June, he is able to sign for nothing.

O'DONNELL AND RILEY SIGN UP
Dundee today confirmed the signings of Stephen O’Donnell and Nicky Riley. Both players have been on trial with the club since the return to pre season training two weeks ago. Both play in midfield.

O’Donnell has signed up for a year while Riley’s deal sees him sign for six months.
